Men Should Not Use Women’s Soap

Reasons Why Men Should Not Use Women’s Soap

To a lot of men, soap is just soap. However, there are actually huge differences between bath soaps created for women and those formulated for men. For one, skin on a guy versus that on a lady varies significantly and thus requires different care.

A man may not get optimum cleansing, moisturizing and exfoliating benefits from a soap designed for women. If this is not enough to convince you, there is a myriad of other reasons why men should leave that rose-scented soap bar on the shower rack alone. Here are some:

Men’s skin has specific needs. Grabbing whatever soap is in the shower may seem practical to a man but it may cause more damage on his skin than keep it clean and healthy. Women’s soap tend to be milder as it is designed for delicate and sensitive skin which may not thoroughly cleanse a man’s thicker, oilier, and rougher skin. Plus, men’s active lifestyle and inherent hairiness makes them sweat more. Thus, men need specially formulated soap that can wash off sweat and deep-seated dirt and prevent the growth of bacteria.

Men’s thicker and rougher skin also requires extra strength exfoliation to get of rid dead skin cells that may build up and give you that unsightly scaly look. Exfoliation is also important to eliminate sebum that may clog pores and cause acne breakouts on your back or other parts of your body. Unfortunately, bath products for women may not have the right exfoliant properties for men’s skin.

Another reason why you should stay away from women’s soap is the fact that a feminine fragrance on a guy may turn off a lot of girls. According to research, women choose mates who are most different from them genetically, and they get their clues from a man’s scent. So if you smell like a girl, women may find you less attractive as a potential mate. Not only that, a man’s natural odor, when mixed with a girly scent, may not make the best aroma!

So why risk it? Run out right now and grab a men’s bath soap at your favorite supermarket! You will be amazed there are shelves, and sometimes even entire aisles, dedicated to men’s bath products.
